Disco 2000: Nineteen New Stories From The Last Hours Of 1999

Features Bill Drummond’s short story “Let’s Grind (or How K2 Plant Hire Ltd Went To Work)”.

Back Cover Blurb

The party starts here… with a cast of crazy scientists, nomadic DJs, fetish queens, conspiracy theorists, killer ants, graffiti artists, gangsters, convicts, cult leaders, Netheads, repilcants, religious maniacs and ball room dancers.

Is it worth getting?

“Let’s Grind…” has also been included in “45”. If you are slightly interested in Bill’s short stories chances are you already own that anyway, so there really is no need to pick up “Disco 2000” separately.

Taped To The Tiles: 2023 The Triptych Trailer

On March 21st (but for reasons beyond our understanding not having been posted on our website until now) instead of another poster a strange DVD-R appeared taped to the wall in the usual spot, featuring a trailer for the upcoming 2023 Triptych.

2023 – The Triptych is a film projected onto three vertical screens.

It is not a dramatisation of the book 2023 but a response to it.

It has no dialogue or musical soundtrack.

It lasts for 69 minutes and can be streamed to mobile phones or projected onto large cliffs.

If and how this trailer ties in with the upcoming book remains to be seen – like previous communications posted by The JAMS this one again raises more questions than answers.

Furthermore, most channels of communications went offline after the trailer got distributed, including Jimmy’s twitter account and website. For now the K2 Plant Hire Ltd. website remains the only source of information though there have been no new posts in quite a while now.

This probably means that we got all the information we need and just have to put the whole picture together now…

A Wild Poster Appears, Announces Book

A second poster got shared via K2 Plant Hire’s twitter feed this morning, prominently featuring the People’s Pyramid hovering over a cornfield and announcing “2023 – A trilogy by The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu”.

People quickly spotted an additional bit of information not found on the first poster – the company logo of book publisher Faber & Faber. Speculation quickly evolved into fact as an actual listing of “2023” appeared on their website (and Amazon) not much later.

Well we’re back again,
They never kicked us out,
twenty thousand years of
SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT

Down through the epochs and out across the continents, generation upon generation of the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu have told variants of the same story – an end of days story, a final chapter story. But with one hope, even if the hope at times seems forlorn. The story contained in this trilogy is the latest telling. Here it is presented as a utopian costume drama, set in the near future, written in the recent past.

Read with care.

REMEMBERED – TOLD – TRANSCRIBED for K 2 Plant Hire Ltd.

Their website describes the book as 352 pages thick and scheduled for release on the 23rd of August – the date many of us probably already circled in their calendars.

A Few Things To Consider

In the aftershock of this month’s announcement some publications were fast on turning excitement into exaggeration, so we thought it necessary to point out some facts or, at the very least, debunk some rumours.

  1. The KLF have not announced their return.
  2. At this point no music releases have been teased, be it reissues or freshly recorded material.
  3. There will be no new Jimmy/Alex collaboration. This particular rumour came from a news page which took the then slightly dated Positive Void website for the official K2 Plant Hire Ltd. homepage.

At this point the only official information is that The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu are gonna unveil their sculpture The Twenty-Three Year Moratorium on August 23rd as announced via the K2 Plant Hire poster and the liner notes from Bill Drummond’s “Imagine…” DVD.

In the meantime, everybody lie down on the floor and keep calm.

Would The Real KLF Please Stand Up?

There has been some speculation over a recently surfaced video hinting at a possible return of The KLF in 2017, making the news even beyond the usual music magazines.

After a brief statement by Bill Drummond shared on KILTR by Brian Beadie (which of course cannot easily be verified but sounds about believable to us) now Jimmy Cauty has tweeted a link to K2 Plant Hire’s official Twitter account, making an identical statement about the recent rumours and denying a possible return.

However, the very same statement mentions that “[…] The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu are currently at work in their light industrial unit. This work will not be made public until the 23rd of August 2017.”

It’s gonna be an interesting year.
