With its final building blocks firmly in place, Jimmy Cauty’s dystopian model village experience ESTATE is finally open to the public, making its first stop at the Airspace Gallery in Smithfield, Stoke-On-Trent later this month.
Similar to the Aftermath Dislocation Principle before it ESTATE is housed in a 40-foot shipping container to allow it to tour across the UK.
Our aim is to tour ESTATE across the UK to areas outside the typically well-provisioned centers, working with independently-run spaces, to reach audiences beyond the confines of galleries, to engage with local communities, bring joy and encourage creative critical discourse.
The installation’s first stop at Smithfield also marks the beginning of the MdZ ESTATE Tour 2020-2021 during which the shipping container will make stops at various sites across the country.
If you are interested in hosting a leg of this tour you can contact L-13 for further information.
